Backing up Lodge-ical

How do I back up my Lodge-ical™database?

Step 1 -Locating your Lodge-ical Production data (a.k.a. lodgedata8.accdb)

When you open up Lodge-ical, you will see a Licensing Information form similar to the following:

Underneath your Business Name, you will see the location of your production data.

Typically, if you are using a single user version of Lodge-ical, you data will be located in your c:\Lodge-ical folder.

If you are using a networked version of Lodge-ical, your data may be stored on a dedicated server (and in this case, there is a good chance that your server is backed up automatically every day).

Depending upon the folder that you find, the date/time stamp of lodgedata8.accdb MUST represent the date/time of the last time you entered data into Lodge-ical.

Step 2 -Perform the back up

Once you find lodgedata8.accdb, you will want to do a copy/paste to a back-up location (preferably a location that is external to your computer), such as a removable disk or an external hard drive

.If your data is housed on a standalone server that is being backed up routinely, you might still want to take an extra precaution and copy/paste the data to a back-up location such as a removable disk.

Step 3 –Sample back up procedure

If you are using a single-user version of Lodge-ical, you will want to do the following:

  1. Exit Lodge-ical
  2. Insert your memory stick/removable disk into your USB port
  3. Right click on the Start Button
  4. Left Click on Open Windows Explorer(or find the icon on your desktop titled Computer)
  5. On the left hand side double click on the following foldersLocal Disk C:Lodge-ical6.
  6. On the right hand side, Right click on lodgedata8.accdb
  7. Left Click on Send To, then Removable Disk
